The Possibility
Lord God, I need you now.
I am told that you see me, know me,
and care about me.
I see evidence of you in a rose, an autumn leaf,
a sunset, and so much more.
Yet, the pain and darkness I feel and often ignore
is so strong and heavy.
Tears don’t even come.
I sometimes feel numb.
I want to have hope grow in my life.
I need your help to see what You want me to see.
I want to believe that I can make money doing
other things, and it is hard to believe that.
I am used to things, you know.
I need Your wisdom.
You say that You love me.
How can you?
You know what that was.
You know who I am.
I’ve done some really stupid things.
Walking to You feels hard because I am afraid.
I am afraid of so many things.
I want to feel a release from this life of fear.
Oh, how sweet it would be to have peace
in my soul, peace as I think about my future,
peace over my situations.
I give all of it to you, God.
I am Yours.
